Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has unveiled the new GR Yaris, now available in both 6-speed intelligent manual (iMT) and an all-new 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission. Retail sales commence on March 6.
Derived from Toyota’s World Rally Championship (WRC) expertise, the GR Yaris embodies Chairman Akio Toyoda’s philosophy that “roads build cars.” Toyota continuously refines its performance vehicles through motorsports, enhancing real-world drivability.
The updated GR Yaris features a more aerodynamic design, 18-inch 225/40 aluminum-forged wheels, LED lighting, and an integrated rear spoiler. Under the hood, the G16E-GTS 1.6L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine now delivers 280 PS and 390 Nm of torque, supported by an upgraded drive mode system, a new sub-radiator, and an intercooler spray for improved thermal efficiency.
The interior is designed for performance-focused driving, featuring a 12.3-inch TFT meter cluster with a tire pressure monitoring system, a 7-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an ergonomically optimized cockpit.
Advanced safety systems include Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Intelligent Clearance Sonar. The A/T variant integrates Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, while the M/T features Adaptive Cruise Control.
Pricing starts at PHP 3,391,000 for the 1.6L Turbo M/T and PHP 3,550,000 for the 1.6L Turbo A/T, available in Super White, Emotional Red, Precious Black, and the newly introduced Precious Metal.
